Mentality

I am trying to make sense of this mess,
This struggle to maintain my happiness,

A burden saved for the wretched few,
The ones whose only crime was to try and survive,
Try and survive this purgatory of the mind

Grasping for reality in the lies

All of these perverted truths consume me
They feed my delusions and devour any perceived sanity

Once more I deviate from the given path
Once again I mask my rage, my fury, my hatred

Our madness resounds inside of hollow chests
Echoing violently until we surrender our control

Any semblance of sanity was gone long ago,
Along with humanity’s sympathy

Overdosed on your ignorance, hung by your stigma, cut by your dismissal
And still it’s our fault.

Try navigating my mind and tell me what you see
Fix what is broken and confess to the damage society has done

And we will continue to endure with grace.
